The lodge sat on a large piece of land at the bend in the river
and the water there was about half a mile across, from shore to
So sitting on the dock that reached into the water, or sitting on
the front porch of the cabin gave the impression of being on a
larger body of water. Ted was the one who started calling it
"The Lake" and it caught on with the four of us.
It was a wonderful place to go to. At our age there wasn't a lot
a person could do other than go to the movies, or go "parking".
Obviously, we could have fun at the movies, but that got a little
